Crushed Velvets looking for a Boston Terrier Puppy
Hi, this is Gary from the Crushed Velvets. The Crushed Velvets have been rehearsing a lot lately in the studio for our studio album production. It's been exhausting because it's really hard and also it's very hot in the studio (it's my cousin's garage). Sometimes we get sad and frustrated. After rehearsal last night I went online and looked up "Boston Terrier Puppies" on Youtube. It cheered my up right away.
I love Boston Terriers. I think if we had a Boston Terrier Puppy (or even a grown-up) at rehearsals it would help everyone be happier. If you have a Boston Terrier that the Crushed Velvets could adopt, that would be amazing. Or if you had one that we could borrow for rehearsals that would be even better, because then we wouldn't have a long-term commitment in case we get signed for a big national tour or something. So please let us know if you can help. We will credit you on the album. We would specifically like a Boston Terrier because they are the happiest of the dogs. We don't want one of those mopey dogs with the sad faces.
Thank you.

Gary, everyone I know loves Crushed Velvets. Do you think you can play that grungy motel by the entrance to the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City sometime? It's near my house.
Thanks Ben! And thanks for coming to our show in Nutley. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk afterwards, Magic Marty has a lot of set-up and I agreed to help him out so we could have that slot before him. I think it paid off because it helped expand our demographic to the magic crowd which is a group we want to break into because Marty says it's convention season.
I've learned a lot about the (music) industry as the bedrock of this band and playing conventions is the kind of thing you do to make it. Actually if you are interested in getting into the (music) industry following along on Gary's Corner Blog is a great way to learn because I post a lot of things about the (music) industry and you could learn a lot.
You mentioned that hotel in Jersey City. That kind of "industrial" thinking--finding good hotels to play at--is what you need to do to make it in the industry so you just might have good instincts. You should always follow the dreams you have had, that's what I do with the Crushed Velvets.
Anyway, I know that hotel! I'm going to do a "shout out" today on this blog to see if I can get a gig there ASAP.
